SENIOR LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT/DESIGNER

Destination by Design is an award-winning multidisciplinary economic development firm composed of experienced local government planners, landscape architects, engineers, urban designers, and communication experts that work together to plan, develop, brand, and promote destination-quality assets.

Job Description: We are seeking creative, enthusiastic candidates for project management-level landscape architect/designer positions. Responsibilities include leading the design team with master planning, conceptual site design, graphic representation, construction documentation, and construction administration. The candidate should be passionate about design, with strong graphic and written communication skills.

Education, Skills, and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture;
  • 5 years of experience minimum
  • In process of securing or currently maintain professional licensure
  • Excellent graphic and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign). Civil 3D, Sketchup, and Land-FX a plus.
  • Ability and knowledge to handle city codes and submittals for site plan processing
  • Experience in leading others in the design and construction documentation/construction observation process
  • Capability and desire to mentor junior design staff

SENIOR BRAND STRATEGIST

This position is within our Communications & Destination Marketing division.

Job Overview:

We are looking for a highly creative and solutions-oriented Brand Strategist with a strong analytical mind to craft compelling place-brand stories and strategies for clients. Responsibilities include conducting community and visitor research, analyzing findings, making client recommendations, and briefing the creative team, including the Communications Director, Brand Designer, and Marketing Manager. The Brand Strategist also assists with developing marketing plans and pitching new client work. You should be a strategic thinker with the ability to uncover unique insights to inform strategy for developing local tourism economies.

Requirements:

  • Degree in business, marketing, branding, graphic design or related field.
  • Previous experience as a brand strategist, creative director, marketing manager or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills- both verbal and written
  • Experience leading and facilitating meetings and focus groups
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset.
  • Creative and compelling storyteller.
  • Strong research skills.
  • Strategic thinker.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Conducting extensive primary and secondary research on communities and travel destinations.
  • Staying up-to-date on travel market trends and consumer research.
  • Analyzing research, data and trends.
  • Creating competitive analyses and case studies.
  • Identifying insights, challenges and opportunities.
  • Developing brand architecture, positioning and strategy.
  • Writing and presenting compelling brand stories and ideas.
  • Meeting and presenting to clients, including sales meetings and creative pitches.
  • Briefing and collaborating with creative teams.
  • Leading ideation and brainstorming sessions.
