Celebrating a Decade’s Worth of Successful Partnership

North Carolina’s Yadkin Valley, located in the state’s western Piedmont area, is home to a growing collection of outdoor recreation and heritage tourism destinations.  In 2009, regional partners within the Valley created the Yadkin Valley Heritage Corridor Partnership to facilitate collaboration among local governments and private/public partners to advance economic development, quality of life, and tourism throughout the region.

To recognize their accomplishments over the past decade, the Partnership worked with DbD to develop a tourism asset inventory and infographic series highlighting their progress toward establishing the Yadkin Valley as a premier outdoor recreation and heritage tourism destination.

Telling the Story

A bi-fold infographic brochure tells the story of the Partnership’s progress over the past 10 years – over $20 million in public infastrucutre investment, including 36 new miles of trail ad over $4.6 million invested in historic Main Streets. The Partnership was able to leverage this brochure to communicate its effectiveness to local leaders and promote new tourism assets.
